The meeting was called to order by the President, Mila Braganza. The invocation was led by Angele Miguel, President PAMET Indiana and a welcome message was given by none other than Lydia Coleman, President PAMET Nevada.
Minutes of last meeting was read by the President Mila Braganza.
Treasurer’s Report: Belle Ocampo

Membership: Belle Ocampo
All membership fee were due last April 30, 2007.
Chapters that did not pay their Membership dues for the ff. years:
Connecticut - 2005,2006,2007
Nevada - 2007
Mid-West- 2006,2007
New Jersey- 2005,2006,2007
Calendar of Events:
Every Chapter President read their reports. The reports will be sent to the PRO, Jill Mendoza for the newsletter.
Website: Belle Ocampo and Mila Braganza
Every chapter needs to have their own website. Northern California, Texas, Nevada, Virginia and New York have successfully created their website and the rest of the chapters are still in progress..
PAMET-USA Website
Richard is still working on the website and there will be a change in color and some information needs to be updated. Please DO NOT use the guest logbook for your personal ads. It is allotted for members who wants to communicate with fellow members.
Website fees annually $ 223.99 under Homestead Technologies.
Standing Committee Reports:
A. Education and Scholarship: Ric Del Rosario
- At the induction of officers in NO. CA we awarded the $500 scholarship to Jordan Dequina, Elizabeth Dequina’s son.
B. Legislative
- Tony Ricafort was not present during the meeting.
C. Ways and Means: Susan Heftie
- will be presented at the convention in Texas.
D. Public Relations: Jill Mendoza
- Newsletter in progress. Please send all reports to Jill Mendoza.
E. Budget and Finance: Belle Ocampo
- Proposed budget for 2008-2009 Annual meeting will depend on the balance in the bank.
$4000 -was budgeted for Nevada National Executive Meeting
$10, 000- Convention Revolving Fund (Texas)
$500- start up for a new chapter
F. Constitution and By-laws: Nile Alconcel
There were three proposals :
1. No elected officers and directors can hold the same position for 2 consecutive terms.
2. The Board of director serves as the internal auditor and PAMET official accountant shall serve as the external auditor.
3. Only active and designated delegates who are fully registered may vote during the election.
G. Nomination and Election: Andy Martin
- we are in need of members for the election committee.
- Andy proposed that “ any candidate can withdraw their candidacy anytime before the election”
H. Special Committees:
Presidential Scholarship Program: Liz Dequinia
-Liz had a meeting with the Philippine delegates. They discussed the 5 proposals.
1. Scholarship grant to any qualified Medical Technologist with only a short term training. Each chapter will give $100.
2. Research Grant that’s worth $1000.
3. A yearly Medical mission.
4. PAMET Library- donate books and computers. Currently there are 2 functional computers and another 2 computer needs upgrade .Southern California donated $1000 on the spot.
5. Review- for Med techs who wants to work in the US.
Special Liaison to PAMET- Phil.: Ricky Martinez
2 balikbayan boxes were sent to PAMET Philippines. Contents provided for their library. Still asking all member to donate review materials that can be of use to all the med tech who are interested in working in the US. He will be going back to the Philippines for the Convention this coming November 28-30 2007. He will ask Mr. Moraleta to be the key note speaker for the next National Convention.
Convention- PAMET-Texas: Esther Madamba
The Convention will be on August 27-31 2008 at Hilton Hotel- Post Oak blvd, Houston Texas 77056.
Registration to follow..
Theme- there were 9 proposed themes.. By call of hands the majority votes went to “ 20 Years of PAMET-USA Leadership, Visibility and Viability” as the official theme for the Convention in Texas.
Esther Madamba proposed to have a PAMET-USA CHOIR that will sing tagalog songs during the convention. List of songs will be given later.
New Business
1. Mila Braganza, PAMET-USA President proposed to have a SCRAPBOOK and it will contain all activities from the last convention to the next convention. Span of 2 years. It will be judged by the Host of the convention and criteria will be decided later on.
2. Banners- Mila Braganza, President proposed to have a small and uniform banners that will be hang during the Convention. Each banner will cost approximately $40. National will be paying.
3. Plaque instead of trophies to be awarded.
4. Mila Braganza, President proposed to increase the Presidents allowance. From $250-$500.
5. The budgeted amount along with the Checklists for executive meeting and convention will be sent to the host chapter.
6. The Vice President will report to the President quarterly on what’s going on with all the chapters. Fund for new chapter is $500.
